An Esoteric Reading List For 2023
At the beginning of every secular New Year, the general populace reflects on the previous year and sets goals for the next one. In our little corner of the internet, it is common for people to share lists of their favorite books that they read in the previous year, and the books that they aim to read in the upcoming year. In my tenure on the internet, I have made numerous reading lists, typically themed ones aimed around a particular topic or subject. However, this list is going to be a little different, as it lacks a central theme or reading order, instead it is a collection of books that widen your perspective on esotericism. In general, the largest complaint that is leveled against the esoteric book scene is that every book more or less covers the same ground, but that is far from the truth, so without further ado, here is a list of unique and fresh reads for the esoterically inclined to tackle in 2023.
The CCRU Writings
Man and His Becoming According to the Vedanta by René Guénon
Shams al-Ma’arif by Ahmad al-Buni
Sane Occultism by Dion Fortune

Polytheism: A Platonic Approach by Steve Dillon
The Three Books Of Occult Philosophy by Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa

I'm curious, since we have a couple comprehensible coincidences, wich editions, if any, do you have in mind?
My choices:
CH
Hermetica - Copenhaver, Cambridge University Press
PGM
Greek and Egyptian Magical Formularies - Faraone & Solar, California Classical Studies
Maybe you are interested in some suggestions.
Apocalypse of the Alien God - Dylan M. Burns
Psyche - Erwin Rohde
The Last Pagans of Irak - Jaakko Hämeen-Anttila
Ibn Arabi ( I read it in spanish, I'm not in touch with english translations, but surely there are good ones)
Thanks for the list, there are a few gems that I'll try to add to mine.
Al-Buni is a very underrated author. His material on Djinn Magick is very powerful, with some names that likely originated from Ancient Babylon.
