I Published A Book (Planetary Theurgy)

And everything is changing, forever.

I have embarked on a massive project over the course of the past year. To start, I wrote a book, alongside two amazing visual artists, Nadia Zarańska and Nicole Mary Mattravers, which is now available for preorder. You can order it through Katharsios Press (all copies on this website are signed!), Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or through a request at your local bookstore. Let’s now take a little look into what my book is actually about, since “planetary theurgy” is not a commonly use term in the modern occult community.

“When you embark on the sacred path of unity with the Gods, you begin rooted in the earth, bound to a mundane understanding of the world. As you grow spiritually, you are called to change, to transmute, to purify, and to be born again through a sequence of initiations. The planets serve as guides on this ascent, functioning as seven veils, through which you must pass in order to approach union.

This book leads you from the earth, the material plane, upward through the seven classical planetary spheres and toward the divine. Within these pages, you will explore the nature of each sphere, the magick and mysteries it governs, and the forms of spiritual development it inspires. Each chapter culminates in a planetary remediation and initiatory rite, allowing the book to function as a full curriculum of mystical growth, carrying you from absolute beginner to seasoned adept.

As you move through these veils, you will discover your True Will, unlock some of the highest mysteries of the cosmos, and draw closer to the ultimate aim of the path: the accomplishment of the Great Work.”

The thing is—I am not just releasing a book. Katharsios Press is a whole project, a whole ecosystem of esoteric knowledge. I will be publishing future books, but also, it is not just a book-based project. Katharsios Press is a digital-forward multimedia esoteric publishing house. Beyond print books, it is also releasing a digital journal, a podcast, and audio editions.

Each month, there will be a digital journal released in two phases, two parts, one on the full moon and one on the new moon. Each phase will include a detailed article from a wide array of esoteric thinkers and artists. Along with each article, there will be a piece of visual art to honor the mysteries within the piece. The articles will be released on the Katharsios Press Substack and press website. As well, audio editions, or essentially mini-audiobook versions of the journal articles will be released on the substack, press website, and on Spotify under the podcast, “Katharsios Press: Audio Editions”.

On the first Monday, or Moon day, after each phase of the digital journal is released there will be an interview with the authors of each piece released that goes even deeper into the topics raised in the articles. This will be a normal podcast! It will be available on the Substack, website, and on Spotify under the podcast, “Katharsios Press Radio”.

The digital journal will have open and public submissions. Two months before it is released, the press will release an open call with a theme. Anyone can submit! Then, two pieces, and two artists will be selected, who will work together, alongside the editor, Georgina Rose, to create that month’s journal and podcast. This will build a community, keep things innovative, and allow for unique perspectives to be seen. As well, all work will be paid, allowing esoteric thought to be funded and appreciated. The goal of all of this is to further the current and build a community.
