In the occult community, we adore books. It is seen as an ideal, an aspiration, to be the type of occultist who has a beautiful book collection of gorgeous tomes full of wisdom. However, when we pursue this goal for the sake of the aesthetic or the image, we miss out on the entire point of esoteric books—to gain wisdom into the spiritual mysteries of this world and guide us towards our goals. These books are written for a purpose, a purpose that is meant to be applied to our lives. If you are simply collecting for the sake of collection, what is the point besides aesthetics?
When it comes to purchasing occult books, the first thing that needs to be considered is quality. The unfortunate truth is that the occult publishing industry is releasing a lot of rubbish right now. For this reason, a lot of the more accessible occult books are not the best. However, there is still great work out there if you know where to look.
